robin
At some point in the not too distant future I would like to increase the boost on my stock TT. I have taken a quick photo of my intercooler through the bumper. Does it look like it needs replacing? Most of the fins seem to be intact but there is definately some corrosion. http://visualplanet.org/supra/icold.jpg
jazz1
yes. iv replaced mine with a greddy 2 row not only does it seem more responsive it sounds nice when reved
RobSheffield
That does look a bit past its best If you gently touch the fins and they either powder or break then new SMIC / FMIC time it is
robin
If i replaced it, it would have to be with a standard or aftermarket side mount. Nothing wrong with front moust... just seems like a bit too much work.
hogmaw
If you do replace it consider the Chris Wilson SMIC, the best you can get, I think there is a group buy on at the mo
jamesmark
FMIC is overkill unless you are going for a single, almost pointless unless you are after the "oh look at my frount mount" look. Just go for a stock replacement, there is the CW uprated cost £600+ or Nic can supply replacement ones iirc around £5-600 ish delivered. Edit found Nic's prices: - OEM Toyota SMIC = £528 including postage 12010020 GREDDY R-SPL 4 Row SMIC = £640 including postage Depends what you plan with your car. RedM
I have a CW SMIC and it is rather splendid. Fits better than stock in the bumper with no lovely gaps for all that cool air to escape through.

robin
you'd be surprised I did a quote with a custom exhaust and it added over 200 quid
Scooter
it doesn't look too bad, however i'd be tempted by a stock one from Nic if the price quoted on here is accurate..........

robin
How essential is a decat when raising boost? I love how quiet the stock exhaust system is and dont want to be messing about putting a cat back in every MOT time. Can you just keep them in or loose one? Its a UK spec if it makes any difference.
