silvershark44
so why do people fit external wastegates i have to wonder. Because they also like to build carbon monstrosities!
Cable
Cool, I'd like rid of my BOV cos I much prefer the noise of the turbo chatter
vvteye
I had a blitz supersound.. don't know if it was any good but it sure was fun watching the OAP's leaping for the safety of the pavement thinking a 20 ton lorry had just released the brakes. Lee 94 Supra TT
The Turbosmart range is the best you'll get, the quality and build is second to none... not cheap though!! here's a video clip of a Turbosmart BOV installed on a Supra that I recently sold, sound was incredible!! perhaps too much for a daily driver though!! Alex
so why do people fit external wastegates i have to wonder. You're confusing your technology I'm afraid. An external wastegate, is simply a WG that's NOT part of the turbo. External wastegates control boost pressure by regulating exhaust gas flow into the turbine of the turbo. External wastegates bypass the air to the atmosphere via a short exhaust, known as a screamer pipe, or back into the main exhaust. A BOV releases boost pressure in the intake pipework when the throttle valve is closed. A recirculating BOV redirects the from the post turbo pipework into the pre turbo pipework.
