Rock bands must have very high carbon footprints. I switched on and was amazed to see Metallica playing. They tour with a vast array of trucks and coaches. They must use a fuckton of electricity for each and every gig. Their lead singer drives big ass trucks and hot rods and we're supposed to go "Ooh Metallica are supporting environmental issues". Yeah right! Metallica's carbon footprint is so big it needs it's own planet!! 3. I was going to make a pithy comment about not having any really environmentally aware bands on along the lines of "Pah! I notice they haven't asked environmentally aware, Vegan, Straight Edge handcore band Earth Crisis to play" (despite the fact they've split up) and KNOCK ME DOWN WITH A FEATHER they've only reformed to play the New York gig! It has nothing to do with saving the planet, its about saving the human race. The planet survived for millions of years before man came and will survive for just as long after we are gone. I think perhaps the pop stars can be sanctimonious when they give ALL their money away and live on £100,000 a year (got to allow some extras for security).
