Thorin
Tech threads are tech threads, IMO it should stay that way, as with for sale ads, turning them into a debate is wrong, there is a place for that. PS Mawby added the expert bit not me when he moved it. So, vague title, no detail, and not in the tech forum originally.
Chiefgroover
All i need was one person to go "its a............" and thats it. I dont need people with too much time on there hands trying to make a mockery of a simple question, probably the only tech type question I would have asked in the entire rebuild. Take me back to my recent decision to use the forum for buy and sell only, which I should have stuck to and shall revert to you will be delighted to hear. Whitesupraboy2
Unfortunatly it wasnt in technical so you'll be subject to some 'joking' however thorin and RedM know you wouldnt like that in future. However RedM it was in technical by time you replied. Try to keep the joking out of technical. Id hate to have to give you an infraction

Matt Harwood
It's the control unit for a factory option, remote central locking. It would have had a wiring loom that runs from under the drivers seat, down the sill and piggybacks into a connector at the fusebox. It would also have had the areial travelling up the drivers side a pillar. Jake was closest The discovery was made here http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=6595&highlight=remote

Clarkey
All I need is one person to say "its a whatever - for whatever" not the usual forum smart ass load of shyte that this places is notorious for, keeping many former and very valuable members away. . Oh FFS! Take a chill pill Ernie and lighten up - you moonfaced assassin of joy Lighten up mate. If you continue with the attitude - the people that you want help from aren't going to bother. Savvy ? mawby
Yep that's because when I saw your original "reported post" and I thought someone was complaining about something so vague being posted in the technical forums, so I moved it, only to realise you'd reported your own post so I moved it back and changed the title to emphasis that no more non-expert replies were wanted. A little more detail in your original post may have help people to idenfity the item quicker and could have prevented the unhelpful replies that seem to have offended you so. The central locking is controlled by a box just behind the far left passenger airvent.
JustGav
Up behind the dashboard. The central locking one is under the drivers seat. You sure?? I could be mistaken, so this is a genuine enquiry... I'm pretty damn sure it is behind the air vent.
Matt Harwood
Sorry Gav, I meant the 'remote central locking unit' is under the seat. You are correct that the 'actual' central locking unit is behind the air vent, just beside the glovebox.

Hmmm, that means my vvti has/had remote central locking... pity I never had a fob.
