dave barratt
I have just fitted a full OEM cruise control to my j spec TT AUTO Actuator CC ECU and steering wheel. My car has the full wiring loom so it pluged up perfectly. Trouble is when I engage CC the CC light flashes indicating a fault. I have removed the speed delimiter. The fault code is 12 which indicats a fault with the clutch circuit. I have exhausted all the tests as decribed in the workshop manual and everything apears ok. I am an electrician so this was easy for me. When I short out the pins on the diagnostic plug I noticed that the ABS light also starts to flash. My questions are :- Could this be a clue? Is there a diffrence in the CC ECU between a manual and an auto? Is there a diffrence between a j spec and a UK spec TT CC ECU? Could the ECU be duff? I'm out of ideas now so any help would be apreciated
Soonto_HAS_soop
There are different part numbers between UK and Jap Cruise ECU's. There is also a diferrence for LHD cars too, but I can understand that one for obvious LHD/RHD fixing reasons. 88240-14270 is for UK spec ECU 88240-14250 is for Jap spec ECU There is no difference between Auto and Manual versions. Matt Harwood
I would guess that the manual cruise ecu is looking for a negative signal to indicate that the clutch pedal in not pressed. The cruise control on a manual car will switch off when the clutch is pushed... just a guess...
