Guest neil111 Posted October 17, 2004 Share Posted October 17, 2004 Hi all, just bought a 93 TT Jap Spec Auto. Seem to have a few odd problems: 1. Stopped at a junction and the active spoiler light starts flashing and the red warning triangle on the dash lights up, press the spoiler off button and it dissapears? also the spoiler light started flashing today at about 60mph and then the engine warning light came on for about 30 secs then all went back to normal! weird! 2. Pulling away in D the car sort of jerks on and off as if power is cutting out upto about 20mph, if I start in L (manual) its fine? 3. Start the engine and the Slip cont off yellow light starts flashing and wont engage reverse until I put it into D then back, the Slip light keeps on flashing until I turn key off and restart. All these probs seem intermittent, I did reset ECU today but didnt seem to help. Any ideas guys? Thanks in advance. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
fredm Posted October 17, 2004 Share Posted October 17, 2004 My advice for what it is worth is take it back to where you bought it and tell them your not happy with the car. Problems with Automatic Transmissions can cost an awfull lot of money to put right. While waiting for the Garage to open you could always check the transmission oil level. On my U.K. Spec. the spoiler drops down at 70mph and the light comes on. The light goes off and the spoiler retract's at about 45mph. Guest neil111 Posted October 17, 2004 Share Posted October 17, 2004 Not really an option to take it back as I bought the car privately, these problems are only intermitent, most of the time the car drives perfectly, I dont think its a major problem and hopefully is just an electronic malfunction somewhere. Thanks in advance. hi...i had the same thing with my car...I put it down to the wiring of the alarm system as it only ever happened if i stopped the car...the alarm light went out and i redid the alarm to start up again with key in transmission. since i now reset the alarm (lock/unlock car) all the time i aint had the problem again... as for the not engaging into reverse...i had this on cold starts last winter/or when i hadnt driven very far before start/stop ... i have to say i didnt get anyone to look at it! and the car's fine ...touch wood! Zed Posted October 17, 2004 Share Posted October 17, 2004 Has the car had the active front soiler de-activated in order to accomodate a fmic. If so you just need to short two connections on the plug that would have gone into the motor for the active spoiler and keep the spoiler 'off' button pressed in. :flame Dev If you don't have an fmic then just check that the plug into the active spoiler motor is securely in, it''s on the deivers side of the car.
