By the time all the spot welds etc had been drilled out and all other welds cut, it really wouldn't be in good shape to refit. Tell your mate to just get a new one. We can supply parts like these, and i've got 20 good rear ends in stock. The best way to go about it is to arrange to come and mark exactly where you need the section cutting off, and allow for a little more.
