Nasal washing. Anyone tried it?

They used to use Cocaine to clear blocked noses and other sinus problems. You could buy it over the counter in a little snuff box early 1900's, that was until everyone started getting addicted to it! :D

Just an idea, more pleasant than the nasal wash I guess. ;)

d. Benefits

1. Cleans mucus membranes in nasal passages

2. Stimulates secretion of nasal mucus

So you just fill up again in no time.

I always love it, after a bad cold, when I can string out a good half metre of greeny-yellow snot. I breathe so clearly afterwards, but it only lasts for 10 minutes.

Eeeewwwwwww mental image...

Mind you, I'm the same, after having my noses smashed in when I had a car accident, I've always suffered with blocked noses, I'm going to try the water wash, whats the worst that can happen apart from swallowing it. :p

Sinuses are great bits of evolutionary engineering though, they lighten the front of the skull, add resonance to the voice and warm/filter the air we breathe.

It's just a shame they fill up with snot so easily.
