RedM
At the weekend, me and the Missus took a trip to her parents. While there I flicked through the Mail on Sunday supplement. Inside was a two page feature on the Holden Efijy, a concept car with about 700bhp. I thought it very nice and promptly forgot about it until the Squires meet last night. So, this morning I thought I'd post up a pic or two of it. I found an appropriate picture.... ....and then I stopped! "Martin. Stop!" I said to myself. "You haven't used the forums handy search facility." So I did and to my utter lack of astonishment it's been mentioned in THIS THREAD and THIS OTHER THREAD! I've even posted in the second thread. In summary then. It's a good idea to use the search button before spewing forth one's 'latest discovery' onto the forum. Thank you.

Charlotte
It's funny. I saw your name and the thread title and thought, how ironic. Wow, amazing colour. Oh and shame on you for even picking up the mail on sunday.
RedM
Wow, amazing colour. Thanks. All natural too. I've managed to catch the best of the Sun this year.

Charlotte
i read the mail on Sunday Oh ermmm. But you're nice. Maybe I need to stop stereotyping people by what paper they read.
RedM
Maybe I need to stop stereotyping people by what paper they read. It's the supplement only. I wouldn't touch the actual paper, even wipe my ar5e with. We read The Guardian and The Observer FWIW.
stupra
I've not seen that before, thats a cool looking car, though if you had one you couldn't leave it anywhere. Repost's don't bother me, i've enough in the real world to worry about to care if someone's posted something that someone else did a while ago. Whitesupraboy2
People saying use the search are beginning to piss me off. this morning I wanted some stats on the TT because I couldnt remember the exact numbers. the first 5 threads I clicked on all had some idiot saying use the search button. well thats just so helpfull!! How about just say use the search button but the answer is... because when people search in the future for those keywords they find use the search button and eventually give up searching. RedM
I've noticed some mods saying that people need to use the search button more. Maybe a policy from the top down would be good.
Charlotte
I blame Michael. He's always banging on about the search button.
Whitesupraboy2
I try to make sure a reply is given as well as searching. however if the answer is already in the thread no point repeating it. Also a clue on what to search for helps. however this is a good reply (not that good though Jake ) http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=1486973&postcount=
dangerous brain
Using the search is great right up until the point you are no good at using the search button. I can never find old threads that I have posted and know the content of never mind ones I don't the catch words for. For example I recently tried to find the procedure for checking the oil level in the auto box. I couldn't for love nor money find it even though I can clearly remember coming across it before. michael
I blame Michael. He's always banging on about the search button. It's a resource that isn't used enough, it's one thing to try it and fail, it's another to ignore it completely.
Whitesupraboy2
It's a resource that isn't used enough, it's one thing to try it and fail, it's another to ignore it completely. I cant believe this....I agree with Michael however helping them with words to search on sometimes or an answer to that question with a remidner of the search button is more helpfull then...just search for it, covered loads of times. Charlotte
It's a resource that isn't used enough, it's one thing to try it and fail, it's another to ignore it completely. I agree. I wish it was a little more accurate at times.
rik
It does annoy me quite a bit when i keep reading "use the search" as the first reply to a thread. I've used the search a fair bit and sometimes it's helpful and sometimes not so. Things change all the time, and if you are after advice on something or researching a potential purchase there are always new products being released and new companies being recommended, Or if you're trying to find out how to remove something from your car, it's quite possible that someone could now be more helpful than previous posts. People that say "i get sick of answering the same questions all the time"... it's quite simple, don't answer them, click the back button and go read something else.
