Power FC

Found a used Apexi power FC in Japan, comes without the commander but has 'Pro start' Anyone know what this is? I guess the commander isn't needed if I map/log using a laptop?

Probably something along the lines of the Power Engineering PFC, hand controller is usefull for small adjustments when you don't want to hump a laptop around, but pointless for mapping it.

Sound like it is a PRO spec version which has ignition cut insteed of fuel cut and launch control built in. Is very rare and only know one other supra with one and that is supradibbs.

 

All supra powerfc are ap engineering tho but not many are pro spec

 

The hand controller is useful for making quick changes and for monitoring the sensors part of the engine like air temp, water temp and knock levels but should never be used to map a car.

 

The knock warning works brilliant on the 2jzgte and as soon as i ever hear any det though cans it shows up on datalogit. What i then do is dial in the level of knock to light up the warning light in middle of dash if det ever happens. On most other engines this part of the powerfc is not always great as can pick up alot of ghost knock.

 

If you ever did want a commandor nearly any toyota powerfc commandor works with the supra ecu

Depends what boost you want to run matey the standard map sensor reads to 1.1 bar but can be made to read more ever so slighty. If not then its a denso 2.5 map sensor needed or gm 3bar map sensor

 

if your going to map it then your need other gear but if not then no. its plug and play

Thanks Ryan, just awaiting a reply from Japan on this power FC (seems it is the pro version with launch control)

So just need a denso map sensor. Can I datalog from this in conjuction with my innovate WB?

To datalog and link a innovate to it you need the datalogit kit which is used to map the ecu.
