Not good to hear. Hope that the car's fixable and that the pain doesn't cause too many issues, and that it subsides soon.

A few people have mentioned whiplash causing issues months later. My mum recently start physio for some lower back pain. The physio did loads of tests initially and then stated to my mum, "You had whiplash about 15-20 years ago. That's what's causing the pain now." My mum was shunted from behind, as you were, 18 years ago. Bit spooky, but I was quite surprised that it could rear it's head again after so long. I'd keep an eye on it mate!

Bad news Jon - sorry to hear about it.

Just to echo all above if you do start feeling pain get to a physio, as the quicker its sorted the less problems you'll have later on. When a physio looked at my shoulders he could pretty much give me a chronology of every injury I'd had and reckoned he could sort most of them.

He was right too.:)

As already said in previous posts whiplash problems can last for years - make sure you get a proper course of physio. I know its bad to think like this and joke about becoming like the blame and claim society of the US, but I reckon you could easily be looking at a £5K payout for this (plus whatever is wrong with the Astra) - only problem is it'll probably take the best part of a year to get your hands on the money. :(

Youch. Its probably worse that you did hear her coming as you instinctively tense into flight or flight mode. Unfortunately theres no where to go. In these instances if you are stopped the highway code says you should have your handbrake on to stop you from shunting into the car in front as you've guessed it you'd have been liable for the damage on the car in front of you had you of gone into it. Take it easy on the old neck mate as thats not a nice place to get a pain in the-----see what I did there a bit of humour rofl. The car may actually be OK. Most slow accidents one car or the other gives way and it sounds like her car did the giving way lol. If you were waiting at a junction you clearly did her a big favour as she probably would have gone straight out into the oncoming traffic you were stopped for. So technically you are a life saver, of a particularly blind and useless driver but a life saver none the less :D Treat yourself to a co-codomol chap :backslap

Sorry to hear that mate, I assume the woman admitted fault straight away (clear cut this one isn't it?) or did she try and get out of it?

My brother had one in NZ once where a woman hit the back of him, she denied fault and said he'd over took her on the shoulder with his lights off and then slammed on in front of her
