Sitting in a que at a red light when i heard a squeel coming from behind, looked in the mirror to see what it was, and saw a car fast approaching  BANG! it shunts me from behind.

i was a little stunned at first and my neck felt like someone just tried to pull my head off, after a minute or so i got out the car to check everyone was ok, dammage ect.

Not a lot of visable dammage to mine, but i'm pretty sure if i remove the bumper it will be a different story. Her car is Fcuked, bumper crushed, bonnet bent up, windscreen was smashed too

just got back from A&E as i can hardly move my neck :(

day off work tomorrow me thinks :(:)

i'm just so glad it wasn't the supra, but i'm still a little gutted as it was my astra turbo :( hope it can be fixed...

Bad luck mate.

Take is easy though, some neck injuries can be bad for days (or weeks), worse the real damage sometimes might not show up for days.

Same thing happened to a mate of mine, he was hit on the motorway, thought he was fine for the first evening, but couldn;t move the next morning. He was off work for 3 weeks, but did get a substanstial settlement from the other parties insurance for the loss of earnings and compensation for the injury.

Look after that neck properly, mate - I still get occasional problems caused by a neck injury from over 5 years ago!

Sound advise that buddy.. You should have received a neck brace as a precaution??

Someone i knew had to have traction nearly a year later :(

On a brighter note, the compo should pay for a nice holiday or goodies for the soop :innocent:;):p

Sorry to hear about it. Glad you're OK. At least it was the astra and not the supe. Maybe they will give you a new company car if its not fixable?

Make sure you see somone about your injuries and you may as well claim for your personal injury on her insurance if possible.

I guess your other half will have to ride around in the supra now. Maybe it will win her over yet.

I had a similar prang about 10 years ago, my neck went mental the day after but I also got a lot of pain in my forearm and wrist due to me holding the steering wheel and my ankle and shin from having a foot on the brake - I still get a bit of a twinge now :(

I was in a Punto (week old) - minimal damage but it wrote off the car that hit me.

Take it easy for a while sir.

I may be able to help.

really?:sly:

Glad you're ok Jon. I'm trying to work up some emotion about the Astra, but man, its hard:)

Thanks mate :) you know you need an astra turbo if your life ;):p

you will be amazed how long your neck may hurt!! Mate at work had the same and still hurts 3months later some days,

great :(

That sucks Jon.

Did she say why she didn't stop?

she didn't see me and didn't have time to brake

women ;):innocent:

That whiplash can plague you for ages, make sure you see your GP as well. Get it all documented for your forthcoming claim. :)

i've been to A&E already, but i think i will go and see the GP tomorrow

Jon, sorry to hear that mate :(

Glad your ok though.

Want me to come around and give your neck a massage?

I guarantee you will forget about your car,....

...you'll be more concerned about where I'm putting my hands ;)

thanks Ed, i'll... err... keep that in mind :run:

:D

for some reason i put all my weight on the brake  not sure why, as it was just a reaction.

i wonder if that made things worse? but then i guess i would've rolled into the car in front and had some kind of double whiplash :(
