noisy rear

hi guys need a bit of help:) there is a noise coming from the rear of my car which i can best descibe as simailar to a spring being wound tight then followed by a bang :rolleyes:it does this on each rotation of the wheel but not all the time. my local garage seems a bit stumped not sure he is used to anything more than fords any ideas:D:D

Check if the rear hub nuts are really tight. The big central nuts with a split pin in them. If they will tighten at all, with a 3 foot breaker bar, the chances are the outer C/V splines and the hub flange splines are worn. If bad you'll see a tell tale sign of rusty dust around the nuts. It's a dear do to fix this!
