Thorin
Just having a look on the Toyota website. The fastest Toyota in the line-up appears to be a 2.2 Diesel Auris. The 177 DIN hp engine offers an incredible 400 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 8.6 seconds and reaching a top speed of 131 mph. ZZZZzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZzzz...... Sorry I drifted off to sleep there. I'd bloody hope they do release some serious sports cars soon, whether that's a new Supra or not.
juanchan
That's useless. They at least need a competitor to the 350Z on the market. Still don't know why the canned both the MR2 AND the Celica at the same time.
RedM
Nissan seem to be the Japanese manufacturer doing the sports car thing. There's the new 350Z with more power, next years GTR and then there is the Urge!

Cos maybe they have a new turbo-diesel super car up their sleeves, or something that runs forever on a spoonful of cooking oil.

JohnK
Isnt that because they release anything interesting under the Lexus brand?
SMiFFAD
Probably due to environmental and market pressures. they will make more money from selling millions of little eco green slow cars, they wont make as much from smaller numbers of socially unacceptable supra types of car, id image. The last mr2 and celica wern't exactly great either

Daston
I thought Toyota wasnt going to do another MR2 due to the bad reports they got back. People complained that the Mk1 was too small and didnt have enough power so they made the Mk2 bigger with turbo lump. People then said it didnt have the same feel as the Mk1 so they made the Mk3 smaller and then people complained that there was too little luggage space so toyota said "we cant win!"
