I bought myself a samsung 226bw 22" widescreen monitor today, so I officially dont have to scroll back and forth to see what the latest bit of kit you have slapped on your car looks like!

:D

Got to say, I wish I had bought one of these ages ago, makes surfing the net etc so much better as you can easily look at two pages at once. So if anyone wants a widescreen I would recommend.

£255 from pc world.

I would have ordered online, but once you pay for p and p and everything, you dont really saves anything. Plus some places are selling more more online.

There is also all this hype about S panels/ A panels and C panels. With the S panels being actually made by samsung and the other two outsourced to lower quality asian assemblers.

So i wanted to check the code on the back to make sure I got an S panel. However interestingly, guess what, they have now removed the letter code! So you can tell anymore.

There was also an engineers code through the menue where it would say whether it was made by samsung or out sourced, but on firing her up to check they have removed the code from this too!

However, I cant fault it, and it has none of the issues reported so looks like samsung just assemble it themselves now and dont place a letter code to distinguish its place of manufacture.

I replaced my old PC recently with a 12u 19" cabinet, a number of rackmount PCs, networking equipment and three Dell 20" monitors. My desktop resolution is 4800x1200 :)

Thanks all! In fact, building that cabinet has been a complete ordeal. Nothing fitted properly - I spent lots of time drilling and cable tieing and making patch leads and generally swearing at it. Until a couple of days ago, that entire room looked like a bomb had hit it - the mess only finishing about 3 inches from the edges of that photo :p

At least it won't be stolen easily though, it weighs a ton!

That looks great James, but I would prefer a 22" Apple cinema screen and a decent G5 set up. If we had the money at my company! ;)

Dell 2405 FPW here. Had it about 1.5 years now and she's still mint. No dead pixels, amaazing colour resolution and with component out ports etc easy to connect to the Games Console or Hi-fi. :)

Plus, I bought mine for about £650 IIRC and now they can be had for nearly half that. BARGAIN. :)
