turbonut
Hi all My supra has started squeeling like a pig and having checked the cam belt have noticed it is quite slack. I believe it had a cambelt change not long back (its done about 75K miles) and the condition of the belt is good, no fraying splitting or delaminatig. How do I adjust the tension? I'm reluctant to drive it in this condition as all hell would break (expensively) loose if the belt slipped off - worse case scenario I know but its difficult as it is my daily driver, work etc. Any advice greatly appreciated Linda x
RobSheffield
Hun All hell wont break loose if it slips, Supra engines are known as 'none interference' so wont break large lumps off its insidey bits Only the VVTi is an interference engine
uk-rich
you cannot adjust it linda, it is conrolled by a spring loaded tensioner (the spring is internal) the tensioner acts on a jockey wheel
RobSheffield
Is it perhaps your auxillary belt? I would get it checked by someone local soon Linda, it could be the crank pulley
Class One
My car squealed like a pig just prior to the crank pulley failing.

It's due a service anyway but I was hoping for a financial breather due to paying for new kit and paint job etc cheers hun
