Do you wear a helmet crafted from tinfoil?

Most normal people have the ability to digest information and form their own opinions based on it, if they feel the information presented has a strong bias they can then do research in other areas to balance this out and gain additional knowledge.

Obviously the media in UK is going to have a bias towards the UK side of the story, would you expect otherwise?

LooK mate...I know what your saying. ITs true of course they will be bias. But the government used the media as its tool to control people. Not just for propoganda for wars etc....but the way society thinks and acts. BUt look it doenst matter and shouldnt matter to you. Its alot of stress and hassle when you know and see what some do. And to be hounest theres nothing you can do about it. Im sure you have a family and everything so just chill n enjoy urself.

What people dont realise is that muslims are as bigger target as anyone else, thats why some muslims might get touchy about it when people try hinting that all muslims are terrorists etc etc.

So many hundreds of thousands of Innocent Iraqi civilians have died in Iraq because of the war...more so than when Saddam was in power...and why are people dieing? For what exactly? Did they ask Uk and Usa to come in and kill them? Then you wonder why there is so much hatred towards the british government...
I think you'll find that most of the Iraqi deaths have been caused BY OTHER IRAQI'S and the terrorists funded by their next-door neighbours mate.

Grow up FFS.

I always seem to get told I must read the Daily Mail or something when I mention my views, bit odd that people assume I've got my own opinions from the media (which I avoid BTW).

I need to read the koran (well, the translation at least), because a lot of this thread seems to be the difference between every day muslims and extremists - I'd like to know what the 'book' actually says about the religion, whether it's taken out of context by the bombers or whether the 'normal' muslims just don't put too much stock into it.

You should.. Thats what alot of people dont realise. Im a Muslim and I KNOW that nowhere in the Koran does it say anything about killing random people for a reward of 40 virgins or anything similar to that, I know this as a fact. The punishement of murder is Hell in Islam. Thats why it doenst make sense to me a muslim, how other muslims can be so easily brianwashed. What also doenst make sense is that ok, they might get brainwashed to kill non muslims...but how did they get brainwashed to kill muslims to because thats what thier doing...

Dont tell me to grow up...if you knew anything about the war and even read some of the british papers, you will see that it is the "coalition troops" that are causing divisions between iraqis deliberatly so that they can back and get support from atleast one side against the other, and thus get some support from Iraqis..

Now THAT's what I call a conspiracy theory. :D

I bet you think the Americans blew up their own towers too?

Its not a conspiracy, it makes the coalitions forces job alot easier in Iraq. Rather than having Shias and Sunnis united fighting against them, they encourage them to fight each other, that way thier attention is diverted....theres nothign conspiracy about it, its war logic that has been used alot in previous wars.

...ah but which translation? And that's before you worry about any Chinese whispers type mistakes from the time that Muhammad (or a variation of the name) apparently told the tales to his pals who memorised them and wrote things down later.

If they wanted to do that, the easiest way would just be to pull out and leave the factions to it. Then walk back in afterwards to pick up the pieces (and control).

For goodness sake, why can't these idiots see that the coalition are trying to bring a bit of stability to the place? All we're doing now is trying to keep the peace between 2 naturally warring factions.

They've been at it for years. Far longer than the Protestants and Catholics in Ireland and look how long it took for them to come to terms. I don't think that we'll ever be in a position where we can say that there is peace in ththe middle east though - it's just not in their nature. So do we pull out and leave them to it?

If we do pull out, do you think for one minute that the attacks will stop? Dream on if you do son.

BTW, I totally agree that we should NOT HAVE BEEN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE (clear enough for you?).

Anyway, I'm pulling out of this one. :)

Otherwise I can see we'll be here until you go back to school in Sept. ;)

Indeed it does not.

It is only infidels.:D

The trouble is how convenient it is to label anyone as an infidel;)

Not dissimilar to the bullshoite terms of the 'Coallition of the Willing': insurgent, illegal combatant, terrorist etc.

People fighting for some rights on their own land are labelled as insurgents and are therefore fair targets.

Both sides are beating around the bush and refuse to call a spade a spade.

But what goes round, comes round.

You live by the sword, you die by the sword.

Yes yes, it's the evil coalition forces.... perhaps someone should blow them up?

No doubt many of you have all seen the news interviews with the have-a-go Glaswegian baggage handler, someone has set up a site to buy him 1000 pints. :D

http://www.johnsmeaton.com/

"But I had an eerie feeling as I clapped eyes upon a stray luggage cart and un-emptied bin. Not on John’s watch, I thought – this sloppiness would not be tolerated."
