When I was a teen there were about three types of music - now there are about 300 including bongohouse, thrashnose-bleed and stuff.

Really like loud, fast "dance" type stuff, and trying to get a handle on what it's called so I can search for downloads.

Thought it was "trance" but when I listen to it, it's not quite it !

If you listen to this Wierd Al parody, about half way through is the type of stuff I'm trying to identify (and no, it's not the Manarena, for those to lazy to play the track....

http://youtube.com/watch?v=BMLeVrzZNa0 - play loud !

Any suggestions...... ?

Av-it...

Old Ged :Pling:

Well 10 years ago, this was called bouncy techno/ gabba techno. I would imagine it's still called the same thing. It's a mainly dutch sound.

If you like that sort of strength and style, you would almost certainly like some of the UK happy hardcore and freeform hardcore stuff which is quite similar.

Hey Im old now, turned 30 last weekend......:D Still dont look it I know......:p

But Im well into my Trance, Hard House and Hardcore, but Im not happy Hardcore or old Hardcore, as someone mentioned its new generation Hardcore. Well actually I have always been HH and Trance, but the gf likes the Hardcore more as, as she puts it, it has words in it, she cant take thump, thump, thump (no inuendos please lol) with a tune over the top of it.....

But I cant go as far as Gabba.....search on you tube for "teletubbie gabber", theres some funny vids been made of teletubbies dancing to gabba.......:D

That's official then. I'm old.

You are deffo not old Rosie...

You just don't like fast, thumping music.

I've always liked music with a bit of umph but my tastes are really wide now... still love Black Sabath / ELP / and stuff from my teens, plus classical, punk (old skool stuff) - but loud, fast dance stuff makes your blood run faster.. :)

Gabba = the sound of Saxo-boi.

In all fairness even the Saxo clan never play what I call proper music, dance, house, trance etc........

Instead they like something more, how can I put it, too fast too furious......not sure what it is, garage I think, I dunno, its crud........

Please dont ever, ever make the assumption again that Saxo owners listen to proper music.........

On the subject, anyone know of any good nights coming up in the HH, Trance events for somewhere in the South....had enough of HTID and Raverbaby events and need to get back to my roots........waiting for Slinky to re-open in Pompey in July.........

Ha, ha, no its not, you just need some drugs with it so your not aware you're pulping your brains to mush from the constant motions of banging your head along to it.........works for the rest of us....:D

It was always happy hardcore for me...

For some reason I have a copy of a happy hardcore version of Hey Jude, consider I despise the original (since I had to hear it 10000000 times during my music production diploma, it was my given track)..

I'll see if I can dig it out.
