RedM Posted June 30, 2007 Share Posted June 30, 2007 Worked fine before a short drive. Parked up and there was no BLEEP BLEEP from the alarm. It still activates and shows two indicator flashes though. The prox alarm and Blackjax still work as well. I thought it had somehow (whilst driving!) decided to switch to QuietChirps or no chirps but it hasn't. If it helps I am not getting the ticking sound when the Blackjax timer is running. Normally it's three chirps then about 20 seconds of tick tick tick. I get no Blackjax disarmed chirps either. I also don't get an activation chirp when I go into the master settings mode or any audible notes when setting the master setting. Although it does sound when changes are activated! I'm thinking a loose connection somewhere and an imminent alarm service. Any other opinions? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If so only things I can suggest as mine did this once would be to switch it into valet mode and back as I knocked mine into this setting by accident. Hope that helps. As I can only access valet mode by typing in my pin and pressing a button for five seconds it'd be hard to do this by accident. The Cliffords use the sirens internal batteries to provide power for the arm and disarm chirps, thus giving you warning of when the internal batteries are on their way out. All the rest of the alarm functions will operate correctly, so don't panic, it's not developing a fault. Either change the siren and it will all return to normal for the next 3-4 years, or live with silent arm/disarm, but bear in mind that if someone cuts the siren cable, the siren may not sound. You can either get it done at any Clifford dealer, and expect to pay in the region of £90-100 including the fitting, or contact Sextons Maidstone and ask for Mark. But knowing that the siren is on it's way out is could be having an effect on other sounds. I've seen a couple of waterlogged sirens in the past. When they get drowned in water, the battery pack is always the first thing to go, followed by a variety of different fault conditions... If i drive for more than a few hours, the siren stops working, and then comes back online after a few hours/next day. I think it's too close to the turbos.
