SKI
Every so often (about once a month or so) the car will hunt around 4-600 RPM. There doesn't seem to be any pattern, it usually lasts about 5 minutes and then goes away (I can still drive it, I just have to hold the revs steady with my foot at lights etc). Occasionally it happens if I restart my car after she's just been turned off. I can't identify any pattern in the strange idling. Weather doesn't make any difference. Recently had an intensive service new plugs etc made no difference. I'm thinking maybe a faulty FCD? Could it be a fuelling problem linked to my Walbro, suggestions welcome. Cheers

colmcork
It says his membership has expired mate so doubt you'll be able to contact him. For what it is worth the previous owner of my car said it used to ''hunt'' like mad when the car was started from cold. They replaced a lot of bits (cant think now but something is telling me throttle position sensor and a few more things) but to no avail. When I bought the car I replaced the ECU and has been running like a dream since. I figured that for the price of a used ECU, this was a good starting point before chasing gremlins around my engine or electrical circuits. I know it's not much of a help to you mate but I'm afraid thats all I'v got.

Could a blocked PAS pot filter cause strain on the engine? My revs seems to go low when just rocking the steering side to side. Ive cleaned out the pot but will be getting some more fluid tonight.
