After a brilliant 12 months ownership of a stock J spec GZ I'm looking to take the first steps towards some mods.

The main quibble I have with the car is the lack of engine noise. Apart from the whine of the turbos I get none of the fantastic soundtrack I used to get when the variable valve timing cut in on my Prelude 2.2.

The obvious answer is a fancy exhaust but I was wondering....does an induction kit produce a better noise or is it purely for more BHP?

PS. I'm looking to turn a few heads rather than wake the dead or attract the attention of plod.

Thanks

It makes it quite a lot louder, whether that is better is a matter of opinion.

The stock airbox and filter is not very restrictive so you won't see much (or any) power gain.

Get a Nur Spec R, great sound. You can always put the removeable baffle back in if it need's to be quieter.

I drive everywhere with the window down:)

Then get it decatted , definately money well spent.

If you remove both cats you'll also need a fuel cut defender and restrictor ring for the exhaust. Also get a boost gauge aswell to keep a check on how high the boost goes.

As said already, axhaust, restrictor ring........

And if you want more engine, and whistle noises, it has to be an induction, although I would advise to try and give some sort of boxing for it, a happy compromise I feel...... ;)

After that, she will feel like a new car........but something tells me it wont end there....
