Insurance renewal rant!

Just thought I'd get this off my chest. My insurance brokers sent me through my new certificate - despite me not having signed renewal papers or seeing what my premium was going to be.

So I phoned them up to be told that my premium had gone up quite a bit. Apparantly because I was in a non fault accident they've decided to penalise me for it! Surely that's not right! Especially as I wasn't happy with the repairs either.

So, someone crashes into you, your car isn't repaired briliiantly and they charge you more for the privilege. Have had words and they'll hopefully phone me back with a revised price otherwise I may have to take the Supra off road!

Depends on the insurance company. I had a non fault accident before i had the supe, and e-sure bumped the price up by £50, despite me having protected no claims, but direct line said no fault accidents made no difference to the price. As usual, it pays to phone around.

Can't you just go to another insurer?? How old are you?

It's gone up about 100 quid so maybe an over-reaction about having to sell. Just money's tight at the moment having only just started my freelance career really and I'm spending loads on petrol at the moment and bought a house on my own too which still needs some work. So just thinking about resting the Supra in the garage rather than forking out another £108 a month and getting a cheaper car to run and insure for a bit.

I'm 29 with four years no claims (if you don't include the non fault bit) but also have another car insured with the same brokers that I have 7 years no claims on. No points and only one accident 8 years ago which was very minor. Baring in mind I've probably driven about 15-20k miles each year for the past 7 years you'd think I wouldn't have to face stupidly high premiums.

Its nothing personal, its all statistics at the end of the day. Same happened to me like 6-7 years ago... someone drove into the back of my old Corolla with my mum at the wheel, she wasnt to blame but at renewel they wanted £150 ontop of the cost if she was still on the policy!
