Guest EncoreWRC
Now, I know what the sensible answer is but I nned you guys to advise with a cost issue in mind. I am planning a big engine build. I am aiming for Pistons, Crank and Con Rods with all the upgraded parts associated with them. Studs, bolts rod bolts, barings etc... For the head its Cams, pulleys, Fuel rail, injectors then ... usual Water and oil pumps, cam belt etc etc. As I say, cost in mind... Would it be possible to run a car, with this build on stadard turbos? Only reason is, I would have by then exhausted my funding for a while.... Not ideal... but possible without causing any damage? tooquicktostop
I am planning a build at present, mine is not really by choice but hey ho ! it is a real challenge as I have several options already, all at very different costs, I would have thought you could run stock Tubs but just keep the boost down, waits to be corrected You may need some form of fuel controller
Tricky-Ricky
Should be no problems running on std turbos, all i would say is make sure your fuelling is spot on, so use std injectors, or fit a decent ECU.
Guest EncoreWRC
I had not thought about that one. The F-con should be able to me mapped but if required, I could get a fuel regulator. I am hoping that Std tubs will do the trick. With £5K of parts and then about £2000 labour I will be cleared out..... but don't want it all sitting around the house!!! Tricky-Ricky
You don't want to spend all that cash on a nice engine, only to be needing a re bore or new oil pump due to bore wash from badly mapped or barely controlled over large injectors, also fitting a FPR and turning down the pressure won't help if large injectors are fitted, they need precise electronic control. Was planning on 720cc injectors with the F con mapped. What would you folks suggest? Why not wait and get the money together for the turbo as well and have the job done in one go, that way you only have the mapping costs for one turbo and you have the spec running in with the correct set up from start ? Perhaps you should do it the other way round and go single with the stock engine, it is able to handle 550 no problem, and do the build when you have the funds

Studs, bolts rod bolts, barings etc... For the head its Cams, pulleys, Fuel rail, injectors then ... usual Water and oil pumps, cam belt etc etc. If I was spec'ing for my own car I'd go for: JUN Pistons JUN Con Rods Stock Crank HKS or JUN Cams JUN Pulleys HKS Cam belt HKS Fuel Rail HKS Injectors. As I say, cost in mind... Would it be possible to run a car, with this build on stadard turbos? Only reason is, I would have by then exhausted my funding for a while.... What size single turbo will you be looking? If not too big then in256/ex264 cams will be fine on stock turbos and T61-T67 sized turbos. I wouldn't bother upgrading the fuel system yet, do this if/when you upgrade the turbos.
Guest EncoreWRC
I was hoping to go for JUN stuf... just going to be money. But it is being considered and is defo No1 choice. As for the rest, Power Enterprise cam belt, 264 cams on both sides and future plan is PHR Stage 4 turbo kit! Fuel rail - Yes Injectors - Yes (brand and size to be confirmed) Pulleys - HKS (I like the pink and blue!!) And Yes, Mr Nic will be the sipplier of a lot of it as no one touches or comes close to his prices!!! - free bump -
