Wez
Has anyone ever had one of these, I have heard that the ground clearance is great even though its has a 4" diameter, this I guess is due to the fact there are no middle boxes of any kind. Alex
Can't guarrentee it but I think Gareth's may be the Race spec one or its just the normal HKS Ti Hiper
Terminator
I guess that must be the Hiper baffle above the exhaust. Now you hear me now you don't:rolleyes:
Gareth Davies
My exhaust looks straight like that, no idea what the differences are between the normal one and the race one though... And unfortionatly it's still fairly easy to ground it :( Don't have a baffle for it though (I think?!), dam if I could make it louder without a baffle it would sound like the coming of the apocalyse
Ian D
gareth, your exhaust isn't 4" pipe, I think yours is 3" may be the race one is 4" . why do you need a 4" pipe work????
Alex
Why? 'Cause then you can brag down the pub of course why else do we buy all these mods!! I didn't think it could be the race one but I'd not checked it out.
Ian D
bet you pay a lot for that extra 1" well if it means that much to some people
Sharpie
Can any Hiper owners explain if it is OK on the motorway ? or do you get a little ****** off with it after 200 miles? Or Is it worth it putting up with it on the motorway, if the rest of the time is just sounds beautiful!
Terminator
At legal speeds it is not a problem. I have one speed band where it is a little intrusive, that is around the 90 to 95 lepton mark. it is not bad but just more noticeable. If I ever went that fast I would probably just turn up the stereo. But most of the time I love the sound so much I have the stereo off and even crack the window a little. I have had the car driven by me at 100 leptons at WOT and it sounds absolutely amazing.

MONKEYmark
thats one mother of an exhaust when people ask you what exhaust tell them titanium race seris they should last a lifetime and the power gains and exhaust note are worth every penny
Nic
Any titanium exhaust will need to have good ground clearance as the titanium used is extremely thin section (about 1mm or less) so if you do hit something it is easily bent. I have an ARC titanium exhaust the ground clearance is very good, but I managed to knock it the other day driving up a curb which cracked one of the brackets. Welding titanium needs specialist equipment (not something your local garage will be able to do) luckily I have a friend who services Rolls Royce aero engines and he got the bracket welded for me. I couldn't believe how light the front section of the exhaust was (see: http://www.arcinter.co.jp/titan.html) it must save quite a few kg over a steel exhaust. Flavio
The HKS Titanium exhaust only has a titanium muffler, the piping is 4" stainless steel. As far as I know only ARC (very expensive!) and Veilside make full titanium exhausts. randy
Kakimoto has a full titanium exhaust that weighs only 4.4kilos called the GT1.0Z! I have asked them if they have it for the supra will know soon. Pretty reasonable too only about 600USD! http://www.kakimotoracing.co.jp/
Nic
There are a few more companies in Japan doing full titanium exhaust systems now for the mkiv: Stillway Signal Amuse - R1000 Titan Duke (not sure if this is full system)
randy
Is there anyone out there using the Apex N1 titanium exhaust? http://www.apexi.co.jp/products/exhaust/n1_titanium.html

Syed Shah
How much is the ARC exhaust? I've been thinking of trying to fit the Hiper to the NA and getting something lighter+louder instead
randy
ARC is very expensive about 1800-1900 USD!
