Vaughany
I need to top up my power steering fluid, I was going to ust the TOYOTA T- IV ATF that I use when changing my automatic Tranmsmission fluid. Wiil this be compatiable or do I need to use Dexron 3 ATF as it states on the cap. I assume that the Type IV is an upgrade of the type 3 but I need this confirmed before I top up. Vaughany
Thanks for the reply m8, what are we saying then, the Toyota t-IV ATF should be okay for the Power steering!
MONKEYmark
i was told to use ATF fluid cant remember if it was dextron 2 or 3 i have got some shell DONAX TX dextron 3 fluid i used when my gearbox was leaking to get me home and not run dry on fluid. go with what it says on the cap to be safe. i have used cheap stuff when i did mine and had no problems with power steering. will go look for it in shed see what its called. Vaughany
Thanks m8 for the info, I have also spoke to Chris Wilson said the T-IV ATF will be fine for the PAS. This ATF is expensive and used by alot of Auto drivers for their transmission. I hope this should be fine for my PAS and will probably be better than the Dexron 3 that it recommends on the Cap. Obviously the T-IV ATF wasn't available back in 1994. Cheers, are you at Pod tomorrow? if so i hope to meet you.
