Guest shrek
Hi all, Have got a really annoying knock on the front right so finially got the time to rip the shocker off and have a look. When i took the spring off, the shocker was jammed solid and won't move even a mm. Is this knackered? Could it be what is causing the knock? everything on the front has been checked and there is no play any any joints. really appriciate any replies cheers andy
Chris Wilson
Sounds *uggered to me alright!! It should be stiff to move the piston rod in, and stiffer still to pull it out, but nothing too hard, for example a strong woman should be able to compress and extend one fully if one end was clamped in the vise. And as they also support the road spring that could be very very serious from a safety angle. Are you sure they are standard Toyota fitted shocks? I have never seen a seized one before, sounds like aftermarket *rap to me!
