imi
As some of you may know that on the way to Daytona one of the water pipes burst and thx to Matt and Henk we managed to replace it. Thread post here http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=1460466&postcount=63 Today, I floored the car after a few days with the new clutch to see how much better it is and yes, you guessed it, the same flippin water pipe burst again. I have highlighted the area where the two pipes are located (under the intercooler pipe), seems like the jubilee clip of the lower pipe is cutting into the pipe above... Whitesupraboy2
fix...put some tape over over the clip after it has been tightened so there is no sharp edges.
imi
fix...put some tape over over the clip after it has been tightened so there is no sharp edges. Good shout......damn....we had some tape at Daytona too..
imi
just had a look at the pipe, its ruptured pretty badly, dont think its due to the jubilee clip, think the pressure was too much for the pipe to handle.... will have a better look in the morning in the sunlight...(assuming its a clear day)
Homer
WSB probably has it right here, you don't want to be using those crappy silicon hoses on those water pipes, they offer no grip. Get some new stock ones back on and go from there. Also, why the silicon hoses on the IC pipework? Odd!
Dnk
fix...put some tape over over the clip after it has been tightened so there is no sharp edges. Buy better quality hose clips with rolled edges, my hose's have been on for a number of years with no issues,

AndyT
Rolled edge quality clips are the way ahead. Don't know about pro's cons of the different hoses though. And Imi you need the better horns to finish it off bud. Imo of course. On a side note. Homers note on using stock items is not the first time I've seen it mentioned that stock beats aftermarket. Our esteemed Mr Wilson advised that the stock belts were better than aftermarket in most situations. Even over PE items. This car was quality built and Toyota used good quality parts to make it reliable. So, just in case you disregard stock when it's mentioned, as I tend to do. Don't. Stock is sometimes better. imi
Does anyone know the part number of those two pipes, I will order them from Toyota today and fit them.
Henk
Imi m8, I was wondering whether the replacement pipe you got from Daytona was of a high enough rating to take the way you drive your car... Let's be honest you don't hang about much... Also rather than get the original Toyota Part is there such a thing as an uprated version? Sorry if this is a stupid suggestion, I am after all a technical numptie
Ric
goto toyota as sombody has mentioned or get some fuel/water hose from your local motor spares, its not a very sharp bend so stright pipe should bend around without kinks

pistonbroke
I recently replaced these two pipes on mine, I spotted one of the pipes was degrading and would'nt last much longer. So of I went and bought some generic hose of the same diameter. However, they didn't fit. The interior diamter is way to small on normal pipe. Get to toyota and buy stock ones, they are only cheap, I'll see if I can find the part numbers for you.

Homer
The part numbers are the same for each hose so I guess they need to be trimmed to suit: 16284-46020
