Kittyclaws
Stopped off there for a day whilst on a cruise, was on my guard whilst out and about as it is a bit dodgey out there. The crew on the ship said to be extra careful when walking about etc.
JonW
I spent a month in Costa Rica 7 years ago and then another 2 weeks around 4 years ago. It's a very beautiful and safe country. It has everything from rainforest to volcanoes. I would certainly reccomend it if you are into wildlife etc. Places to visit include Manual Antonio Park - Coastal Forest reserve with high concentrations of wildlife including squirrel monkeys, cappucins, sloths, iguanas, cayman, and polific bird life oh and did I mention paradise beaches with no-one on them!! Volcan Arenal - A constantly active volcano set in amazing cloud forest. Monte Verde - Cloud Forest full of humming birds The country is small and you can hire your own jeep and see most of it over a two week period. I love the place and hope to go back again next year.
