RedM
I reckon he means Smokefree Britain day. I've been trying to source 10,000 tax disc holders with the 'smokefree' symbol on. Done now at an amazing price but some customers actually expect to sell them on at half what we pay for them! Muppets.

RedM
What for? Nearly all business vehicles require one of these signs to be displayed. It's the neater option to display it on the back of a holder.

juanchan
To encourage their employees not to smoke in cars? Won't company cars and taxis be classified as "public places" when the ban comes in? That's the case in Ireland.
RedM
To encourage their employees not to smoke in cars? I think the potential fines should be encouraging enough. Basically, it seems that if you use a company vehicle you cannot smoke in it. We've just been going over all the rules and you might as well not bother. Firstly like to clarify Im a smoker, and I can understand all this, as Im sure you can as well really like restuarants etc where there is food I partly agree, but pubs and clubs, and your own work van if your the only one in it.......Come on..... Nanny state over load.................

On the off chance of this going like the religion threads, I would say that I am happy about the ban as I am a non smoker but I think what people do in their own vehicles is up to them!! At the end of the day if I am not breathing in other peoples shit then I don't have a problem with what they do in their own space. The problems start when you are in an environment where you cannot get away from the smoke, short of going home and never leaving your house!! I don't see what is wrong with pubs and clubs having smoking areas with really good extraction fans either!! H.

Nanny state over load................. Hold on, this raises a good point, I've recently quit, but my car strictly speaking is my work vehicle... so does this mean I can't actually smoke in my own car if I wanted to?? What a crock of shit!!!

Henk
I'm a smoker too, some friends of mine asked me at the weekend... "How will you cope after July 1st?" I thought it was a bizarre question... I'll live, carry on as before. I've smoked outside at work and restaurants for years, what's going to change? I can do what I like at home, in either car and since our meets all involve standing outside, what changes? Do I look bovvered?

Havard
5 days to go. Are you going to keep this up till July 1st then James....... Like Henk says, it's not going to make much difference. I got my big no smoking sticker from work today for my dashboard of the Mondeo...... There is no way I am sticking that on there. I don't need reminding that no-one smokes in any of my cars.....WTF!!
