UltraFlynn
Does anyone have an old IBM Model M keyboard that they want rid of? It's the old clicky keyboard which IBM shipped for years with their PCs.
michael
I binned loads of old IBM keyboards last year but might still have one or two knocking around under the pile of newer ones, will have a look. Failing that I have an old site to upgrade the kit on soon, they might have some. They could be M looking ones without the clicky buttons though, I'm not sure they are old enough for you. Just out of interest why are you so keen to get one of these? Collector? They go for silly money don't they?
UltraFlynn
I'm not a collector. To be honest with you I've used an old iMac keyboard at work for years but it's started to go wrong so I'm trying to find a replacement. I don't like modern keyboards much and have been looking around for something a bit different. The IBM Model M has a great reputation but I don't want to get one off eBay because I'll have no idea what the condition will be like. And it also needs to be a UK spec keyboard which pretty much rules out getting it from the US. They can go for good money if they are in really good nick, the label on the back is readable and (possibly) if still boxed. But to be honest I'm not looking for a collectors item, I'm looking for something I can use every day to write thousands of lines of code. Let me know if you have one. (It has to be the clicky one though)
JustGav
Glad to see I'm not the only person who is funny about keyboards... most people don't understand when I say I need a specific keyboard.. My current fav is the white apple one.

UltraFlynn
Glad to see I'm not the only person who is funny about keyboards... most people don't understand when I say I need a specific keyboard.. My current fav is the white apple one. I was very disappointed a couple of years ago when I took delivery of a Quadra 660AV and it came with a cruddy non-Apple generic keyboard. I'm still on the lookout for a decent keyboard for that as well. I think the right interface is so important. As a programmer I type fast all day long and cheapy keyboards are just not good enough. I never use a mouse either, I have used trackballs for over 10 years now.
