dangerous brain
Jesus man why did you not say so earlier?? My very best mate is a recruiter for the RAF in the bournemouth office. He is a million times over the flavour of the year in there and across his area is THE best recruiter there is (they kept him on in his office for two extra years which is unheard of). I could of gotten him to chat to you over the phone to give you some serious pointers on what to do and say etc. I'm sure you'll carry it off on your own but every little bit helps. If you come into difficulties get onto me and I'll get him to speak to some people. Good luck chap. Just remember though,,,getting in is the easy part lol. Don't be mean to him. He really wants this and you lot are making a joke of it. Besides, I'm sure Chris Wilson could fix a plane if asked. Dude unless you've been IN you wont understand the constant ribbing that different units/forces give each other. Its part of the process and its what makes boys into men and men that stick together for their whole lives. In answer to the "real" para's, having been around the block with a lot of you guys alot of marines, a few SBS and enough SAS I will say this, on average more rocks/RAF make it through selection first time out than Paras do with alot less streamlining and advanced training so who the wannabe is could be questioned

Mcgoo
Good luck mate. Good choice of career and probably one of the only parts of the RAF that wont be run by BAE in the next few years.

At the end of the day, each Force is outstanding at what they do. Its just the Para's have to rely heavily on the RAF these days!!

They wear wings as anyone that does the jumps course can even the penpusher in SHQ. They don't wear the covetted pink hat :D P company doddle Good luck mate. Good choice of career and probably one of the only parts of the RAF that wont be run by BAE in the next few years. Three or four years ago they did a feasability study to actually dissolve the RAF reg. One of the only reasons they managed to stay afloat was the fact that the RAF has no other battlefield medical trained personel, or training facilities for the likes of CCS. Just goes to show theres no such thing as a good solid job for life really.
