Alan999
After my pc deciding to die on me yest I am thinking of getting some new parts and building a newer one. Will there be a big difference if i get, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz with 2GB PC2-5300 corsair RAM, +new motherboard (cost so far £217.42) as apposed to Intel P4 3.06ghz With 1GB pc2100 ram. Will be using my old graphics card, hard drive etc . Also is there anything else I will need fans wise etc?
sdavies
The 2Gig alone (not including the fact that it is higher spec/speed memory) will be a mahoosive improvement over the older spec. Are you sure that your graphics card will be ok to use with the new motherboard? If your chassis and/or PSU is old, you may want to consider getting a beefy new PSU (especially if you eventually want to stick a phat graphics card in there). I'm afraid you have stepped onto the slippery slope (much the same as Supra ownership lol). You may want to consider what you want from the machine at this stage and - maybe get a whole new PC after adding up cost and the specs
