It's no slanging match mate :D

RedM and myself have been around here long enough to discuss things like adults (ish :D ). It's just late-evening banter; despite what appears here I am genuinely interested in Martin's opinion on the subject as he's been so anti-supra lately ;)

Oh I see, I'll just shut up and eat my popcorn then :D

you ever been out in niges martin?now that is a well set up car?

whats all this about vipers mate,do tell :)

Nige's car is awesome. Shame he won't show some of these singles owners what really well set-up actually means.

The Viper thing then. I've been a fan of the Viper for years. I loved the look of them and heard they go pretty well too. It's one of my 'dream cars' and I had an opportunity to buy one. A very close friend of the family is selling his and gave me the option to buy it. He also gave me it to drive for a couple of days (no more than 200 miles driving though) and I took it to work, the shops and out for a drive locally. I took it on the Mway (fun) and into the countryside (not fun) and in traffic and urban driving it's well, just a bit too much for someone who wants the car experience without all the attention.

It's completely the wrong car for a daily driver. It's lairy fast but very twitchy on the roads around here. It drove me mad in just a day. Admittedly it rained a bit earlier this week which is a pretty good way of testing it TBH. We don't have a lot of good weather but even when the roads were dry it just felt ready to dive for a hedge at any opportunity. It was too big in traffic and the LHD was a nightmare although I'm sure one could get used to it. Fuel economy was rubbish and I couldn't park it anywhere. It sounded awesome and really did go like stink. Like I said though, it is a 'dream' car and I couldn't imagine driving it every day or parking it up ungaraged. So it went back.

Also the scary loan I would have had to take out had something to do with it.:(

So that's another one off the list until I win the Lottery.

AWESOME!!!

Who's Nige? Does he own a Supra?

He's a guy who used to come on here, ask Terry S about him he will fill you in.

He a genius with mapping Power FC's on supras and knows a hell of a lot about supras.

He was one of the original members in 2001 and went by the name of eyefi.

Nigel is/was Eyefi (do a search for him). Keeps to himself and drives a very quick Supra. I think he did most of the conversion himself and the first time I met him (he flew by like I was at a standstill) he was out mapping it.

He has a lot of tech knowledge but, for a few reasons, decided to let his membership expire. Much missed and doesn't come out to play much either.

Nige was Eyefi :)

Ah, now I have substantially more respect for the aforementioned Nigel :) He's one of the greats here.

Don't take this the wrong way Martin, but unless you've spent some serious time DRIVING that car and likewise some serious time DRIVING some of the other cars you mention (like the 996 turbo) I don't take your statements over the past few weeks seriously. I do own a well sorted mid single and am lucky enough to be able to spent time driving other similar power cars for long weekends at a time. Take it from me that a passenger seat ride can hardly give you any idea what any particular car is capable of... far from it :D

blah blah blah

Darryl, despite telling you exactly what I was on about you seem to have missed the point again.

My comments weren't meant to be taken seriously. I was having digs at the driving gods with their new singles. Most of whom seem to have driving experiences laced with a side order of BS. Something that you agreed upon via PM.

So anyway, Fifth Gear tonight: Tiff Needell drives the Porsche GT3 RS which may or may not be as quick as a Supra depending on the driver, engine mods and/or test zone.

Happy?

I can't believe you've made me watch this garbage, no doubt the interesting bit is at the end after all this pointless filler.

Lady No-Talent is doing her monkey impressions in a Vauxhall, Comedy guy in a pointless tank, Plato doing a half arsed job of a Jag review and some guy pulling a van with his ear - what's the hell is that about?

Grrrrr the Butler-Henderson, just eat an airbag already.
