Fargo
just went for a test drive to make sure i got no boost leak after changing a couple of I/C hoses when a strange thing happened. put my foot to the floor, got up to max boost, took foot off the go pedal but the car kept on going, had to switch off ignition to stop the car. i checked the throttle cable and pedal and all are in there rest/idle position. started car again and still revs to redline. had to do a bit of start car, into D go for a bit, switch off and coast in N.. any ideas. Steve
Is the throttle under the bonnect jammed open?
Fargo
do you mean the butterfly valve at the end fo the TB just before the i/c pipework connects to the TB, ,this is in an open position. otherwise the throttle cable etc are all in the rest/idle position. Steve
Its the valve nearest the plenum ( should be closed with a small gap at the bottom when turned off/idling ) the one at the front is for the traction control, which should be open. Alex
Is the peddle stuck cause of the floor mat? Sounds mad but it's happened before. If that's not it then take the back hose off the front of the TB, and check the butterfly movement.
Fargo
replaced the i/c hose that connects to TB, also the pipe in the pic to the right of the TB i had removed and put back as i didnt have enough replacement hose. yes checked floor mat also, as i said the cable is in the rest positionm ie slack

Alex
yes checked floor mat also, as i said the cable is in the rest positionm ie slack The cable shouldn't be slack...it should be taught at all times.
Fargo
The cable shouldn't be slack...it should be taught at all times. bad choice of words then, its not slack and its not being pulled,ie its in rest position.
