Jake
My Profec e-01 boost controller arrived today but the instructions are all in Japanese! I've no idea how to fit this thing. I'll be searching for English instructions after I've posted this but if anyone knows where I can find them I'd apprecaite it. Cheers

Jake
Is it me or are the diagrams for 'Vehicle with Dual Port Actuator' (pg7) and the one for 'Vehicle with Single Port Actuator' (pg8) exactly the same? Also I can't tell from the instructions which Actuator pipe I need connect the Boost Control Valve into.
LeeT
jake, look here its for the blitz dsbc but im sure the actuator bits and bobs used are all the same http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/blitz_dsbc/index.html
Jake
Thanks Lee. The pics aren't very clear to me what goes where. I'm trying figure it out but I'm still not sure where the two pipes from the Boost Control Valve go.
SimonB
The difference between the single and dual port actuator setups is that with the dual port there is an extra thing to cap off, the other port on the actuator. I used the Blitz instructions that leet posted, just make sure you take off the plastic caps from all three ports on the Greddy solenoid (including the one you don't use) and make sure you connect the right hose up to the right port and you should be fine. One hose from the control valve goes to where each end of this hose used to be (i.e. one goes to the top of the actuator, the other to the turbo). The one that goes to the top of the actuator should connect up to the COM port, the other one that goes to the turbo should connect to the NO port. HTH EDIT: It makes more sense when you look at it under the bonnet.
Jake
OK, I think I've got that now - thanks guys. What about the pipe I need to tee into at the FPR? I can't tell for sure which pipe it is. Any chance of a pic, just so I don't mess it up.

Jake
Beats me mate. I'd rather do it the official way if poss though. These are the photos from MOHD http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/photos/profec_e-01_photos/DSC05436.JPG http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/photos/profec_e-01_photos/DSC05438.JPG ....but I can't tell from those pics which is the vacuum hose that I need to tee into. LeeT
i would tee it in here at pipe A . thats also where the stock pressure sensor is http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/ffcd/freefcd.jpg

Jake
Cheers Lee. I'm hoping somebody with a Profec e01 is going to come along and help me find the location of the FPR regulator hose.
LeeT
i dont want to state the obvious jake but why dont you just locate the fpr and follow the vac hose? the stock fpr is located on the fuel rail nearest the front of the engine bay. its a little awkward to see but you can see it
Jake
TBH mate I've no idea what the FPR looks like. There's a whole bunch of pipes going to different things and I really don't know which are vacuum pipes and which are fuel. All I need is a decent photo or diagram and I'll be fine. Voila http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/parts/fpr_stock/dsc01475.jpg the vac line does seem to be heading towards my first suggestion too
Jake
Is the FPR the bronze coloured thing? And the vacuum pipe is the one with the black tape spiralled around it? I was looking for the FPR between the engine and the bulkhead! I'd always though it was near the charcoal canister thing somewhere.

Jake
Aww cheers Lee. Beers on me next time.
SimonB
Here's a pic of mine if that helps, you can't see much though! The sensor hose is the thicker one at the top (thin one is a boost guage). I mounted the sensor itself round by the charcoal cannister, on the wing right in the corner, there's a bolt there that it will attach to (just about). The boost control valve is a bit harder to find somewhere to attach it to - found a spare bolt hole right down under the airbox in the end. Jake
That's great Simon - cheers. I think I'm all ready to actually do it now but I'll leave it until tomorrow night. It's getting late and I need the car in the morning. I just wanted to get it all straight in my head before I started dismantling things. Thanks guys, much appreciated. Jake
Oh yeah, one more thing, any suggestions for what to use for capping off where the hoses have been removed?
LeeT
Originally posted by Jake Oh yeah, one more thing, any suggestions for what to use for capping off where the hoses have been removed? a bit crude but everyone uses a bit of hose with a bolt in the end:)
