michael
You can't been a bit of advance warning! Straightliners just emailed me to say they are doing a RWYB at Elvington tomorrow, all I have is this: On Saturday 16th June 2007 there is car RWUB racing. You must be there early before cut off. It will be £45 plus admission. Any car that meets regulations allowed. You must wear a helmet and no passengers allowed when racing. Straightliners Terrible weather, short notice, expensive - otherwise it sounds like a winner
RedM
Let's have an impromptu Supra meet there. The owners can all sit around moaning about how overpriced/boring/lacking in facilities the event is. Should be a good rehearsal for TOTB.
michael
Elvington is comedy in this weather, a nice stream forms close to the end of the 1/4 and you get cars spinning off all over the place. Then the timing gear blows around, rain sets sensors off... then you get 0.1 second 60ft times and 180mph trap http://www.megaboost.co.uk/supra/mine/elvington-30-10-05/P1020083.JPG And I suspect it's a lot worse up there at the moment. It's the Ultimate Road Car Challenge at York on Sunday, I'm on call though £25 to race plus £10 to get in.
RobSheffield
I recall when we did that last year (or was it the year before?) and that starlet started spinning gracefully towards that partially built bonfire! I might give it a miss but Martin, if you want i could moan about overpricedness by email
RedM
No, please don't, Rob. I had enough of that last year.

Thorin
I thought Elvington was good fun in the wet, I wheel spun nearly the whole of the quarter mile when it was bouncing down once They decided after my run that it probably wasn't such a good idea to carry one given the conditions
