ignition feed source in engine bay

Hi, I 'm try yo hook up a switch for my tranny cooler fan. I need to know where's the closest ignition feed 12v is at. Or where ppl usually hook it up at for ignition 12v?

Is your tranny cooler not tempreature controlled, ie it comes on a certain high temp. In which case you can wire it via a fuse directly to one of the feeds from the fuse box located in the engine bay.

 

You want to be careful wiring something like a fan into an ignition feed purely because of the current required by most fans..

 

What I would suggest doing, is perhaps run a wire from inside the car to a relay box in the engine bay which will then switch a battery connected feed. That way it is controlled by the ignition but you aren't running the fan directly off a low current ignition feed.
