So the theory is

Child dies in apartment.

Parents hide the body far enough away that the extensive search over the next three weeks finds nothing, then return to the restaurant without anyone noticing (or do the police think Maddie wasn't in the apartment when they went out to eat).

Three weeks later they hire a car, and move the body under the noses of the police and the media who are scrutinising their every move.

Ah well, time will tell, I suppose.

i was ripped to pieces (not literally) in work about a week after the dissapearence for suggesting the parents should be questioned.

ive always thought that mrs mcann had that glint in her eye that only a murderer could have. only time will tell i guess

same here mate - at work there is 7 of us - including 1 policeman.

Suprisingly, the policeman said our theory was rubbish - but now he's coming around to the idea. He said we should all apply to become coppers

My Mrs has an incredible gift of spotting guilt at first sight of someone. Remember Holly and Jessica? I remember sitting watching the news when the press were getting vox pops from local people, and one of them was Ian C*ntly. My Mrs said 'Oh my god, It was him, i'm not joking, it was definately him'. To which I replied, 'Stop talking boll*cks'. So guess what she said when she saw the Mccanns?.....'It was her'.

I don't know what evidence the police have - but I do find it very strange after they've stayed out there so long, stated many times that they would not leave until their daughter was found - that as soon as they are named formal suspects they run back to England.

If they were innocent (of killing their daughter, since they are guilty of negligence at the very least) then surely this is the one time they SHOULD still be there - to help the police with their enquiries, so that they are removed from the suspect list and the police focus their attention elsewhere as soon as possible?

Their official statement says they played no part in the disappearance of Madeleine... so my theory is that they were responsible for the death (accidental or otherwise) but not the removal of the body.

I find it hard to believe that they could have done anything once the media circus started.

I was discussing this theory with my mum yesterday. And we had a similar opinion.

Who knows it's all speculation really.

Just the one spot? That's hardly an 'incredible gift'.

As for her having her roots done they've been doing a high profile campaign and may have had them done for TV appearances and the like.
