bodilx6
Why is that? It takes on quite a different sound. -And what is the pros/cons of the different ways of going TTC. I have tried the 5 min fix where you just switch the vacuum lines to disable the VSV's or so. I know there are other more advanced ways of doing the TTC but why do these? DamanC
There is no turbo online lower down the rev range to 'silence the note'
Gaz6002
You will need to get the fuelling tweaked to make the most out of TTC. I'm very pleased with my set up, it works a treat!
Tricky-Ricky
The reason the exhaust note is different/louder, is because you will have the ECV open all the time, whereas before it was closed and silencing some of the sound, TTC is very good if done right, been happy with mine for the last 14 months. Daston
stupid question what is TTC? Is it a single thing or is it where both tubbies come on at once?
bodilx6
True Twin Conversion. Both tubbies come on at the same time. Some love it, some dont. You can find info on it on http://www.mkiv.com
Soop Dogg
The reason the exhaust note is different/louder, is because you will have the ECV open all the time, whereas before it was closed and silencing some of the sound, TTC is very good if done right, been happy with mine for the last 14 months. I think you mean the EGCV. (Exhaust Gas Control Valve) Normally only one half of the downpipe is open until the 2nd turbo comes on line. At that point, to cope with the increased exhaust volume, the EGCV opens up the other half of the exhaust. (You've probably noticed the change in exhaust note in sequential mode when the 2nd turbo comes in) In TTC, the EGCV is open all the time and both turbos spool together, so it sounds rather more 'beefy'.
