Ah there was a porsche day down Poole quay on car day recently and they had a gt2-r down there. Bloke reckoned he had 620 bhp in his. It was well track used according to the track stickers he had on the car there were at least 5 others there claiming to have over 500 horses so clearly a tad more than 500 is available and I can't see all of those guys have gone 129 grand mad to get there either.

Totally agree, just paying for the name and the unique prestige bit like Brabus! So I reckon they must have spent a total of £30k, modding the car and £100k, billing the customer for the the prestige of them doing it (PROFIT!) LOL :p

Funny that you mention Brabus. I do some work in our special purchases dept. and one day get a phone call about some bolt in titanium.

Call goes on, special design, blah blah blah. I say I need a sample to source it. Following day a securicor van turns up with a package for me. It's the bolt. Securicor dude has instruction to wait until I've measured it then deliver it back!!!!

Turns out it's made inhouse by Brabus, our suppliers don't do anything like it and the whole deal was due to a customer who didn't want to pay Brabus prices any longer!

Sounds a bit OTT to me mate! Could they not give you the measurements over the phone?

Guess thats Brabus for you!

If Brabus wanted to remain unique, surely they would not let other suppliers make patent parts, instead they should turn around to the customer and say thats the RRP, as your a loyal customer we'll give u X% discount and thats, that!

It was off the guys own car (hence the delivery method) and we had to regret the enquiry. I told him that if he wants Brabus parts he'll have to go to them.;)
