£129k modified 911 (997)

Surely the conversion is not £129K? The car would cost £100K or so on it's own. £30K seems a lot for 70-odd bhp though.

Mate, thats exactly wot I thought! :p

The link to the Pistonhead advert right at the bottom, I quote

"COST OF THE GEMBALLA CONVERSION LAST YEAR WAS £129000 WITHOUT THE CAR." :(

So that car produces 500 BHP cost £129k to mod + the car so you looking at around £200k in total for 500 bhp!!! Some ones gotta be having a laugh!! :eyebrows:

It's Gemballa mate. It's like buying a plain, white t-shirt for £60 just because it has the right label on it. Vastly overpriced for what they do but there is a lot of cachet to having had your car 'touched' by them.

Lottery win and you would, wouldn't you?

Donno, if I had £300k to blow, you really are spoiled for choice! Its a bit of a deli ma, if u ask me! :(

Do I buy an Enzo coz I've always wanted a Ferrari, as when I was a kid my bed room wall was plastered with pic of the prancing horse. so do I buy the ever so common and practical SLR (not a big fan of the looks personally, I could of styled that car better, the proportions are all wrong!). Then u've got the brutal Porsche Carrera GT, or my fav The Zonda, reliable AMG plant, and looks and handling to die for! :D

Which would u choose?

I'd have the Carerra GT. Ferrari's do make my heart skip a beat - but that's true of the £50K second hand ones as well, so I'd just slum it with a 355 as a second car. There is something about the Carerra GT - don't know what, but I want one.

it may only have 500bhp but what about the suspension, wishbones, breaks and all the other parts that are not power related. Its all very well and good having loads of power but tottaly usless if you cant put it down or go round corners.

Perhaps - but 997TTs are not known for having crap brakes and poor suspension, and the power increase is not that big. I'd be pretty surprised if the stock stuff wasn't more than capable of handling that kind of increase.

Which would u choose?

Audi RS4 Avant - Daily driver, shopping etc.

Aston Martin Vanquish S - As lottery winners we'd be going away a lot and this is just what you'd need when turning up at an exclusive hotel.

Dodge Viper - The sound, the speed, the sound, the looks, the sound and the sound.

Porsche 911 Turbo or GT3 RS - undecided. Probably both.:D

Proper old school Classic Jaguar - So we can go to classic car meets and classic car runs to Italy and the like.

I'd have my head turned by a Murcielago and a Zonda too but probably wouldn't buy.

Quite a shopping list you've got there mate!! LOL

Sounds like your expecting a win any moment now :D

Thats very impressive, if I did win the big one, I think,

1) 911 GT3 RS, Track day car

2) Aston Martin DB9 Violante (Every day car)

3) Range Rover Sport (School Run)

4) Zonda Roadster (Mad Super Car, for the weekend)

5) Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing (collectors classic, to add too the family silverware) :D
