Kev.O
I bought a set of these as the top secret GB never went through. I also got some better brackets made up and fitted them today. I have to say that I'm really disappointed. These things can barely hold the bonnet open yet alone lift the bonnet. Has anyone else had any problems with this brand before? Are there any other brand that I could buy?

edge
Kev do you still have the bonnet heat/sound liner on? As looking at gaz's garage he doesnt. Maybe removing that will make a difference.

colsoop
Kev get the ones from Rs components, they have an adjustable bleeder screw and are much better. About £75 IIRC.

I still have the sound liner fitted, I also have a UK bonnet scoop, but to be honest these dampers aren't even close to lifting the bonnet

Bob
Was the guy OK with replacing them? Mine worked fine for a few days, then went all limp and useless. Occasionally they're just about okay n warm weather. I tried emailing the seller, but got no response at all.

Bob
had mine awhile now with no problems Yes, but I expect your bonnet is a little bit lighter than ours I think it's just the luck of the draw with these ebay ones - I'll be getting some of the RS ones when I can be bothered!
