RedM
This is probably a pointless post as rattles and knocks etc are notoriously hard to diagnose but I'll give it a go. Within the last week I've developed a loud clunk/clatter sound when going over bumps/potholes but not all bumps/potholes. It comes from one wheel or the other and sometimes from both and even sounding like it's from under the engine!!!! I thought the rad had come off it's rubber feet but no. Thought the wheels might be loose but no. The closest I can get to describing it is that it's a bit like the clunking sound the rear brakes make on many Supras when you apply them while reversing. I need to check front brakes, suspension, subframe. Anything else or helpful ideas?
Steve
I would have a guess at loose subframe bolts.
supra_surj
I agree. had a very similar problem and turned out the subframe bolts were very loose.
Getrag
Had the same problem. Was old shocks. Replaced them = no more rattles/clattering/clunking over bumps.

Ian C
Loose subframe bolts, followed by knackered top mounts in the shocks, followed by buggered suspension bushes -Ian
RedM
Loose subframe bolts, followed by knackered top mounts in the shocks, followed by buggered suspension bushes -Ian ...and knowing my luck it'll be all three.
Ian C
Well any useful place that does alignment can check for all that, so if you've got a place you can trust...
Mike M
Probably worth having a quick look at the droplinks / ARB bushes. Droplinks can cause a knock going up over bumps.

RedM
Loose subframe bolts, followed by knackered top mounts in the shocks, followed by buggered suspension bushes -Ian Wrong, wrong and wrong. Turned out that the front brake pads were rattling in the callipers! EDIT! So the retainer was tightened but the noise persists. All possible bolts are tight now and anything that could have play in it has been checked. Stumped now.
