Custom Suspension

Hi All,

My other half has just started working for a Suspension Manufacturer :D (She'll be moving to a Turbo company next if I have my way!)

Anyway they make Race Suspension to specific requirements and have said they will make a suspension kit for the Supra IF there is enough people seriously interested....BUT first of all I need to know what to ask for.

Ie what would be a good spring rate, preload, damper bound (range), rebound (range), ride height adjustment range, and anyother damper/spring settings I need. Then what about these tougher bushes/ball joints and Anti-Roll bars?

This is all a huge longshot as I would need to shift more than 10 kits of what ever parts they can produce....but I don't know if TorqueIC etc would be interested in buying some kits

I've not talked directly to them yet and I won't till I know what I'm asking for!!

Cheers

Dynamic Suspension MTCE (Multimatic Technologies Centre's Europe...

I was hoping for your input, Chris, though I was going to mail you directly.

Also those who know about the specs for the whiteline kit may be able to help as that is well rated by all its users...if we can come up with a kit that improves on them and/or uses Ohlins quality dampers then we might well be getting a few supra's ready to take on the Skylines round corners!!

How do you define "improve" though? If you want the car to corner better you're going to have to stiffen it up, if you want it to ride better it will have to be softer . . . everyone is going to have a different idea of what the ideal compromise is, aren't they?

First problem is going to be finding 10 supra owners who are going to spend on a suspension kit. Loads of people talk about it but how many have actually paid for more then basic springs or spring/shocks. the Whiteline kit costs less than 1K and includes all most people would NEED, Some may WANT fully adjustable systems but not many actually NEED then and are willing to spend the sort of money you need to get one.

Indeed you are right hence why I'm testing the water as such.

Rich, do you have specs for the Whiteline kit?

Hmmm I think that makes a lot of sense at that price.

Do most people buy off of them directly?

Alex, give Justin a call. He was looking at a group buy last year but couldn't get enough interest. I think he may be looking at getting an order together this year.
