Tricky-Ricky
Check your brake fluid level, needs to be well above the max mark on some cars, otherwise the check engine light comes on.

MarkTheBoy
Have a look at the guide on error codes and how to check them. My moneys on Error code 42 (speed sensor) Do you have cruise control or an active front spoiler? If so they will stop working when the warning shows if it is code 42. Mine has had the same problem and I chased the brake fluid solution and it didn't solve it. On a side note if it is error code 42 and your car hasn't been delimited, the error code acts as a temporary "delimiter" *ahem*

Jake
You can't be that worried if you can't be arsed to check the error codes. It only takes 2 mins.

MarkTheBoy
Showing 41, and 42, No sure if they are old problems , take the battery off to reset the ecu right? they find the fault again? Yeah, reset the ecu then trigger the fault again and recheck the code.
