merckx
One rider and two spectators! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/isle_of_man/6735511.stm
Gaz6002
wow - lapping the island at over 130mph average speed!! Not surprising there are deaths really. I hope they don't try to ban this as well.
mike_mcevoy
we'll have to wait for more details. competitors dieing is common although unfortunate (it's a risk they take) but to take out spectators is not a good sign, especially making national news. if they were standing in the wrong place, and they have plenty of signs of where not to stand that it was a risk that they took but as i said we'll have to wait. Condolences to everyone. Mike
SUPRASUZUKI
Always bad news when people get killed doing / watching the sport they love. It's an awesome place to ride and watch, but is totally leathal compared to 'normal' sanitised circuits. To get round there averaging 130mph is something else. garethr
I can't remember there ever being a spectator fatality, or even injury (other than road accidents), certainly not in the last 40 years.
rik
The rider was Mark Ramsbotham (34) from Wymondham in Norfolk. He was an old school mate of mine, and one of my old riding buddys. His whole family were at the island to spectate, wife parents and his two young daughters. I'm gutted to hear of my mates death, but just feel really sorry for his family. Also feel for the familys of the others involved. Here is Marcs webpage... http://www.rammyracing.co.uk/

Soop Dogg
I knew the rider actually. (From a few years ago) He was always nuts about bikes - wasn't actually aware he was racing, but they reckon this was his first TT. My condolences go to his family and those of the spectators involved.
