mike_mcevoy Posted June 8, 2007 Share Posted June 8, 2007 we'll have to wait for more details. competitors dieing is common although unfortunate (it's a risk they take) but to take out spectators is not a good sign, especially making national news. if they were standing in the wrong place, and they have plenty of signs of where not to stand that it was a risk that they took but as i said we'll have to wait. It's an awesome place to ride and watch, but is totally leathal compared to 'normal' sanitised circuits. To get round there averaging 130mph is something else. rik Posted June 8, 2007 Share Posted June 8, 2007 The rider was Mark Ramsbotham (34) from Wymondham in Norfolk. He was an old school mate of mine, and one of my old riding buddys. His whole family were at the island to spectate, wife parents and his two young daughters. I'm gutted to hear of my mates death, but just feel really sorry for his family. (From a few years ago) He was always nuts about bikes - wasn't actually aware he was racing, but they reckon this was his first TT.
