Matt H
Project "Summer Candy" is underway!!!! A trip into nearly £10k worth of engine work and body alterations. I was hoping my car would be finished by now, but a minor set back of melting my No.2 piston means its really only just kicking off now! So here's the story so far: I've always had big plans for my supra, but after selling my property development I can finally realise my dreams of owning my perfect supra. The exterior is the most important part of this project. I've selected the best bits of a few different kits which really compliment each other to produce what I think is going to produce a beautifully, stunning result. This topped with a stunning Candy paint from Lecher its just going to be mind blowing. I've never been into over the top ridiculous body parts. I've always been of the opinion that beautiful, blended, simple lines, that compliment a cars original shape, which most importantly that look like they should be there, win out straight to any silly stuff that looks out of place and is too in your face. With that in mind I've choose the following combination: - Do-luck front bumper - Blitz side skirts - Varis rear spoiler - Trial Rear bumper - Veilside over fenders - Custom bonnet cuts - Brand new facelift front and rear lights - EVERYTHING Blended and smoothed! Yummy! With regards to power, I love the twin turbo set up, power low down and power higher up, ive never been a huge fan of going single. This coupled with so many stories of not getting the power down and the results from the singles at pod has made me more happy with my choice of "seeing what I can do with the twins". I have hybrids at the moment and I'm running a proven 410bhp. I want to do some simple fuelling work and cooling work to firstly make running higher boost safer and secondly get a bit more power. I'm hopeful of 450bhp when the jobs said and done. Plus a huge front mounted intercooler really adds to the looks of any supra. So Engine wise I've got the following going on in additon to the BPU and hybrids ive currently got. - Partially rebuilt engine due to melted piston - Greddy 3 row front mount with polished pipes - Greddy E-Manage Blue - 550'cc injectors Where we are at the moment: Well the cars at turbofit having the engine work done. Hopefully this should be done by Monday / Tuesday next week. Then its over to Knightracer for the bodywork!! Im really excited about the finished article. Ive been without my car for 2 months now!! Cant wait to get her back! From here: I'll be adding pictures next week when the finished engine work has been done and progress of the bodywork when its at Knight Racer! Watch this space! Ta Matt Pics: For more pics of the car (exterior and exterior) as it was please take a look at my garage Pic of the paint (the orange / Goldy / Reddy paint on the front bumper is the Candy No.20) New facelift front and rears: My damaged engine block and piston! grahamc
I really like your thinking mate... the twin setup is really good!! And that is along the lines that I have been thinking/hoping!! I am basically running: HKS Fuel System 680cc, rails, walbro pump, etc HKS cams 264/264 (does not affect the ideal of the car, still smooth) Big front mount IC Induction Exhaust UK Spec hybrids Link ECU (over kill for the purpose, but still...) Dyno'd at THOR (not wanting to start this discussion) 407bhp @the hubs at 1.2 bar boost. Car was then road mapped to 1.4bar boost.... so will be good to see at the surrey rolling road day... Then with some well choosen handling mods, the car should be really good. Things on my list in the next 6 months, CW Suspension, diff, brake setup, and some more weight out of the car. Back to your car! Looks like an awesome project, and I will be watching with great interest!!! Good luck mate
Gazboy
At the risk of spending even more money would it be better to use the E-Manage ultimate or even a full blown stand-alone system? Who is doing your mapping? Is there anything that can be done to the stock exhaust manifold to combat lower EGT's and smoother air flow? I'd put a pair of oil coolers in your nose cone too, one on each side.

Looking forward to seeing the finished article Matt It certainly is mate, using the same paint on my car as they have on the front bumper of theres I really like your thinking mate... the twin setup is really good!! Who is doing your mapping?. to be honest with you mate all im really going off is the advice from turbofit. Spending a little more wouldnt be a problem but wouldnt anything more than a bluey just be overkill for what i want to achieve? Gregg said a chap called Dan will be doing the mapping apparantly. heard of him? Is there anything that can be done to the stock exhaust manifold to combat lower EGT's and smoother air flow? I'd put a pair of oil coolers in your nose cone too, one on each side. no idea mate, im no expert. What would be the advantage of the oil coolers? Matt H
Watch with interest. Hope all goes well. Sounds like a good project to me..... still think you shouldnt rule out going single think if i was gong do some serious tweaking to the engine then it will probably be bigger twins but thats pricey! having said that you cant rule out anything with me. maybe next year

Matt H
UPDATE: Spoke to Gregg at Turbofit this morning and he confirmed that my engine has been dropped back in today. Tomorrow he will be fitting my new Greddy 3 Row, the E-manage blue, dump valve, boost controller and 550'cc injectors Then wednesday its of to Knight Racer where the real fun begins! I'll ask Gregg to take some photos of the installation process tommorrow! ta Matt
