Scooter
what sort of 'loud noise' is it? When you removed the belt to replace the pump did you check out the other pulleys freedom of movement?
markiemark
there is a a noise like whine or some thing, just been looking the Tension arm pully needs fixing but i dont think that would affect the streeing. this is making by brain hurt. Scooter
check the ancillary pulleys for stiffness.........and check the bottom (crank) pulley condition and that the outer ring does not spin/move relative to the crank nut/inner part....... dini_the_owl
i presume you have gone through the bleeding process and got all the air out of the system? having air gives a kind of rumble sound not a squeal,i just had an issue with mine squealing and tracked it down to my billet aluminium p/s pulley which had been machined with quite sharp blades not like the stock one which is more rounded, check bleeding again to be 100 percent if your unsure as it is easy to illiminate. Nic
Did you fit a brand new pump? It may be just air in the system, to bleed remove the cap make sure fluid is at the correct level. With cap still off and engine ticking over, turn the steering wheel from full lock to full lock a few times. This should get any air out of the system.
