Clicking coming from front wheel.

Does sound like a wheel bearing, although I thought I had this on my car but it turned out to be a mising dust cap :conf:?

However the tempo of mine did not change at any speed, which suggests that the noise your hearing is a wheel bearing.

But as others have said, check the simple things first.

Thanks for all the help people, but I'm afraid this little clicking noise in my front wheel is irrelevant now.

Some pissed c**** has just written off my Supra on a motorway.

Wanker did a runner too.

Suppose I could ask your technical advice on whether it will actually be written off, I'll make a post with pictures tomorrow.

Still in shock at the moment to be honest

I had a witness with me after the accident who agreed that I should phone the old bill, as he too smelt the alchol on his breath.

Fortunatly this witness saw the whole thing happen.

Guy was swaying and slurring.

I'll give a full account tomorrow with photos of the damage.

Yes he drove off, with no front on his car, dents all over, fluids pissing out onto the road. Mad bastard would have run me down so I let him go.

The police put out a call to all cars in the area (all one of them, no bullshit the copper actually said there was only one in the area, and we are talking South London). He said there was nothing they could do unless they caught him in the car. He said unless someone was hurt they couldn't even get access to his address.

So there you go folks, if you cause an accident whilst pissed and no one is hurt, and if you can race home before the coppers catch you, you get off scot free. Guess they can only do you for leaving the scene of an accident.

Sorry to turn this into a non Tech thread folks.

I'll stop now, just really pissed atm.

Mate, that's rubbish. A friend of mine was breathalised and arrested in his house several hours after an incident that happened miles away.

By taking several breath tests over a period of time they are able to calculate what the guys blood/alcohol ratio would have been at the time of the accident.

I can't begin to imagine why they would fob you off like that.

Don't know Jake it's just what the copper said.

Maybe there's been some stupid law change to protect the criminal, you know the usual human rights bollocks.

I've lost all faith in the law in this country.

I have to go to the police station tomorrow to give them my insurance and mot details, I'll find out.

I have a traffic incident report phone number to ring also, they said they would phone me if they need information or catch the guy.

One thing they will do him for is leaving the scene of an accident.

mate that totally sucks.

I just the other day had a incident, thankfully unlike yours a very minor and low speed one, where i was stationary & flashed a car to let them through on a road where people park all along one side. The car pulled out slowly and came towards me, after a few seconds i realised it was on a complete collision course and showed no sign of pulling over (there was loads of room to do so!). thankfully i have an auto so i was able to come of the brake and edge to within inches of a wall to avoid a real collision and it 'just' turned into a wing mirror clipping incident. This was all in the dark but with me stationary and him probably doing 10-15mph tops which either equals blind doddery old fool or pissed mo fo. Needless to say he didn't stop either, probably doesn't even realise he'd hit anything, and thats assuming he can even remember how he got home :sly: :twak:

I was fuming for a while but i spose i was lucky in the big scheme of things.

hope the cars repairable, and things turn out ok.....

I'll stick a post in the General forum in a mo with some pictures see what you think of the damage.

I think I'm fortunate that it was a glancing blow to the car and not a direct hit.

Amazes me though Scooter how these twats are oblivious to what they have just done. The guy was speaking to me as if nothing had happened. If I had been on a moterbike I'd be dead now.

You are hurt, you have whiplash!

Believe me if it is bad enough it will haunt you for the rest of your life and it bloody hurts like hell from time to time. Been there done that, I just wish I had sued the twat who rammed me when I was parked at traffic lights 15 years ago. But the claim culture did not exist then, but the pain still does as does the memory of seeing him in my mirror fiddling with a fag ligher, so not aware I was there.

Get it treated and a record of your treatment just in case he gets caught, with a bit of luck the car would not have got far so may be dumped now so may get traced.

I have a horrible feeling that we will see more and more of this hit and run if they can. I bet the bugger had no tax insurance etc.

From my own personal experience of being a victim of crime, it would appear the police are not really interested unless there is a very good chance of catching the offender.

Try doing a few doughnuts in the road and I bet the police would be all over you.

Rant over.

I hope the damage is not too bad and the dent in your wallet is not too painful, good luck with catching the scum bag.
